About the newsroom
Local facts, clearly sourced.
The People News is an independent local-information site built around useful public records, official notices, and reports submitted by people who live in the communities they cover.
How publication works
Community submissions are not published automatically. An editor reviews each item for a clear local connection, identifiable sourcing, personal privacy, safety, and basic factual support. We may contact the submitter, shorten the report, add context, or decline publication.
Attribution and outside reporting
We link readers to original public notices and publishers. We do not copy full articles from other news organizations. A link or submitted source is evidence for review; it is not permission to republish somebody else's work.
Corrections
When a material fact is wrong, we correct it promptly and add a visible correction note describing what changed. Requests should identify the page, disputed statement, and supporting source.
Independence
News, opinion, community announcements, and sponsored material must be labeled distinctly. Payment or promotion does not purchase favorable editorial treatment.
Emergencies
The People News is not a government agency or emergency-alert service. Readers should follow instructions from local public-safety authorities during an emergency.
